First AED installed on Main Street
Quoin Financial Bank of Miller and Highmore recently added a life-saving medical device to their business hoping they never have to use it.
An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a small electronic device that is designed to allow minimally trained people to provide lifesaving defibrillation (electric shot to the heart) to victims of sudden cardiac arrest.
Laine Warkenthien. Vice President of Quoin Financial Banks, explained an incident on Highmore’s main street last year prompted some thought into what could have possibly been done to change the outcome.
Those thoughts turned to action when Quoin purchased AED’s for both their Miller and Highmore facilities with hopes of being better prepared in case of an emergency.

Members of the 7th and 8th place boys’ track team that captured a first place team finish

The Sunshine Bible Crusaders track team was in Huron last Tuesday for the 281 Conference Track Meet.
The girls’ team captured a second place finish while the boys placed fourth as a team.
The Miller/Highmore-Harrold wrestling team is sponsoring a four-man Scramble Golf Tournament to be held in Miller on June 9.
The event will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. with a limit of 18 teams participating.
